You will be installing your SmartShade device on the outside wall of your window, so it doesn’t interrupt the shade’s up and down movement.

You will need to move your chain / cord on an angle to the outside wall of the window, as seen above. You will then be mounting your SmartShade device using an extension bracket against the this wall.
