Pull the chain / cord forward on an angle towards the wall beside the window. Hold the chain / cord against the wall so that it is taut (like a guitar string). Then, mark the wall slightly below the bottom of the chain / cord with a pencil. Make sure you have at least 8 inches of space below the mark.
